Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Determining the requirements for long term orders with suppliers.
  • Being responsible for the complete ordering process with suppliers from setting up orders, advising suppliers of required shipping plans, confirmation of orders, addressing issues for Customs brokers and follow up with QC.
  • Expediting and rescheduling orders according to the MRP system to ensure that our systems have the most current information available, which in turn will let us know when problems may arise through the "missed commitment" process.
  • Providing feedback to the Seafood Procurement Manager, relating to offshore supplier issues, which will enable us to improve supplier performance.
  • Assisting Procurement in building strong relationships with reliable suppliers by maintaining effective communications and providing information regarding customer needs and requirements to the suppliers.
  • Working closely with Sales & Marketing to ensure that accurate forecasts for procured items are available for use in the MRP system.
  • Facilitating set up of new suppliers and assisting suppliers with procurement module related issues.
  • Ensuring suppliers are paid on time through following the invoice matching procedure.
  • Ensuring accurate input of sustainability information by suppliers.
  • Ensuring the timely disposition of rejected products, contacts/arranges for product to be returned to supplier.
  • Providing assurance that information is accurate and current through consistent review of data, reports (scrub and open order) and frequent interface with applicable parties.
  • Supporting and updating the procurement module information to ensure accuracy and reliability. Participating in the further development and improvement of the procurement module.

Qualifications:


  • University degree in business or related experience
  • Minimum three years' experience in related field is required
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Selfstarter with excellent organization, negotiation, follow up and decision making skills
  • Demonstrates ability to pay close attention to detail and the quality of your work
  • Team player who believes in providing high level of customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and requests in an efficient manner and on a timely basis
  • Present desire to look for innovative ways to make things better and more efficient
  • Proficiency with an ERP system utilizing MRP or other replenishment tool
