The Food Away From Home team is looking for a Product Manager for a 14 month contract; this role can be based out of either or Mississauga, ON office or our London, ON office.


The Product Manager will develop, direct and coordinate strategic and tactical marketing activities for multiple North American brands within McCormick's Branded Food Service Spices, Herbs, Seasonings and condiments portfolio.

Responsible for managing and profitably growing assigned portfolio of products, including:
pricing, profitability, promotion, packaging, distribution and innovation.

In addition to product management responsibilities, this role will have joint responsibility for the development of both generic and customer specific sales support and training materials and programs to promote the McCormick portfolio of products leveraging customer marketing tools and platforms.

This role will work closely with Sales, Commercialization, Culinary, Finance, Product Development, Insights, Digital/Social Media Teams, Supply Chain/Operations and external agencies to execute growth-driving plans.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages product line P&Ls and product life-cycle including product assortment optimization, new product business case development, pricing and promotion strategies (for the overall brand and across channels) and implement product optimization and cost reduction opportunities.

Develops Canada and North American portfolio marketing strategies, leveraging key business and market data and operator insights, to define brand roles and positioning within the marketplace.

Builds marketing plans to drive portfolio growth.

Provides strategic and tactical coordination with internal cross-functional teams including Global Marketing and Commercialization, as well as external partners (including agencies and vendors) to execute marketing plans.

Creates brand and portfolio marketing assets for channel and/or customer specific opportunities (i.e. sell sheets, tips and tricks, menu solution and tradeshow materials) as well as training materials and programs for sales and distributors.
Working with Sales, develops and supports execution of distributor promotion strategies and programs that leverage their platforms/programs (trade shows, digital etc.) to drive awareness, trial, purchase and growth of McCormick brands, and deliver brand/product training

Works with sales to develop and activate customer marketing programs with strategic customers/national chains to drive trial and purchase i.e.

incentive programs, cross merch/cross sell, customer promotions, menu innovation sessions

Conducts ad hoc analyses and annual business reviews, including thorough business, competitive and market analyses, leveraging data and information from a wide variety of sources.

Utilizes analysis to identify key business opportunities, establish business priorities and ultimately develop effective business-building plans.
Prepares and delivers business presentations to brokers, customers or senior leadership.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business
Minimum of 3 years brand/product management experience (planning, building and running brand business, marketing communication including digital, innovation, finance, promotional activities)
Demonstrated relevant skills and results within the foodservice or CPG space, or closely related field
Strong analytical skills needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations, leveraging in-depth analyses with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions
Strong business acumen, including how key drivers impact business, how to deliver against key performance and financial indicators
Expertise in syndicated databases and market research, with ability to successfully translate insights into plans and action
Strong project management/leadership experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects that have significant impact to company's profitabilit
