The opportunity:

The University of Manitoba is looking for an Academic Integrity Coordinator & Junior Academic Advisor.

This position will be a key member of the student misconduct and student services team in the Faculty of Arts.

The Academic Integrity Coordinator & Junior Academic Advisor will be responsible for support processes and initiatives related to academic misconduct, academic integrity, and academic assessment in the Faculty of Arts.


The qualifications and experience we're looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of one year of directly related administrative experience is required.
  • Knowledge and experience advising students regarding degree programs is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with student support services is required.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A thorough knowledge of the University of Manitoba and its regulations, programs and procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of the Faculty of Arts is strongly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic regulations and policies that govern student's academic progression and behaviour is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate and establish work priorities within deadlines is required.
  • Ability to communicate, in writing and verbally with students, staff, faculty members, and senior leadership is required.
  • Ability to exercise tact and good judgement is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone as well as collaboratively in a team environment is required.
  • A patient, empathetic, and conscientious approach is required.
  • Must demonstrate strong empathy with students in challenging situations.
  • Must be able to identify students in crisis or in need of support and recognize/refer to appropriate supports and resources on and off campus.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity dealing with students and staff from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds is required.
  • Proven ability to multitask, work in a fastpaced environment, show initiative, and meet deadlines is required.
  • Must be proficient in using advanced features associated with Microsoft 365, in particular Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with a student information system is required. (Aurora selfserve, Aurora Admin, Banner INB is preferred)
  • Knowledge of student related university regulations, programs, and procedures preferred.
  • Experience in the use of UM Achieve and AdAstra is an asset.
  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
