Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centers.Our three program divisions are:
Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family and Caregiver Support.
EMPLOYMENT COACHING AND SUPPORT COORDINATOR
Term:
Full-time; 40 hours per week(Daytime shifts and flexible schedule required. Evenings and weekends may be required)

What you'll be doing
The Employment Coaching and Supports Coordinator works with Autism Nova Scotia's Employment Department, coordinating the deployment and delivery of coaching supports across HRM, and supports the expansion of coaching supports in rural areas.
The position will coordinate (train and support) a group of full time and casual Employment Coaches and ensure that individuals working are receiving robust and individualized supports as needed.
To achieve this, the coordinator will also ensure individuals are connecting to supports in the broader supports landscape and working with partner agencies wherever possible to improve their own capacity to support autistic job seekers.
They will always work to provide exceptional individualized support, reflect best practices, and respond to the individual needs and goals of autistic clients.

You must have:
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in a related field
1-3 years of coordinating experience
Access to a reliable vehicle
Clear, current Criminal Records Check
Clear, current Child Abuse Registry Check
Current CPR and First Aid Certification (considered an asset)
Minimum experience:
Knowledge and experience working with autistic individuals / individuals on the autism spectrum or other developmental disabilities, and/or experience in supported employment
Skills and Abilities:
- Committed to the full inclusion of people on the autism spectrum; adherence to inclusionary practices in employment;
- Experience working with autistic individuals / individuals on the autism spectrum and demonstrated understanding of the issues and barriers facing people on the autism spectrum in accessing meaningful employment;
- Strong knowledge of the disability employment and broader social support landscape;
- High level of professionalism;
- Adaptable and willing to work in a variety of work settings;
- Strong outreach, organizational, and teamwork skills;
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail in tracking and reporting on work;
- Empathetic and patient listener;
- Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team;
- Thrive in a collaborative and dynamic work environment;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Employment Coaching in HRM with the goal of supporting the individuals in enhancing skills, and maintaining employment;
- Work with Manager to onboard and train Employment Coaches
- Support a team of Employment Coaches who provide individualized supports to autistic employees;
- Accurately collect data and outcomes of employment supports through ShareVision (Case Management System), LaMPSS and other systems required to provide accurate reporting on the scope, duration, intensity, and impact of coaching and other supports;
- Build relationships with employers where required to provide education and supports that facilitate successful outcomes;
- Deliver ongoing professional development to Employment Coaches;
- Prepare /submit reports, report on themes / trends from program reports
- Consults, daily, with colleagues to assure exceptional support is delivered and issues are addressed in a timely way
