Shipping & Receiving Associate - Delta, Canada - QM Environmental
Description
The Shipping & Receiving Associate will process shipping and receiving requests as directed by the Warehouse Manager.This role performs inventory counts as assigned to confirm stock levels; cleans and checks equipment for usability; actively loads and unloads inventory transport vehicles; schedules shipments as assigned; and is responsible for the cleanliness and general maintenance of the warehouse facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pick and ship warehouse / yard inventory as instructed.
- Deliver to or collect product from local project sites or vendors.
- Perform inventory item shipping and return process:
- Drive forklift to assist with timely loading/offloading activities
- Record receiving and shipment data via Hilti OnTrack / ODOO, follow FIFO and associated scanning procedures.
- Assist with loading / unloading transport units and placing all items in appropriate warehouse lanes and/or return to inventory.
- Inspect inventory prior to returning to stock; check all equipment is functional and clean and within expiration dates.
- Ensure returned equipment such as vacuums and negative air units from abatement sites are routed through Decon prior to returning to inventory.
- Package all outgoing product safely and ship in appropriate formats (pallets, boxes, etc)
- Manage documentation related to LTL/FTL transportation, including customs paperwork.
- Receive and examine shipping contents from vendors in a timely manner and compare with records such as purchase orders, manifests, invoices, certifications, bill of ladings, to verify accuracy of shipment.
- Inspect shipment(s) for quality and count.
- Barcode / asset tag items per assigned procedures.
- Notify Procurement to rectify receiving problems, such as damages, shortages.
- Complete associated RTV documentation.
- Request repair authorization from Warehouse Manager for equipment returning from job sites.
- Schedule repair work with vendor; track until returned to warehouse.
- Load certificates, SDS sheets and maintenance schedules via Hilti OnTrack/ODOO
- Conduct inventory cycle counts as assigned by Warehouse Manager.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment across all warehouse and yard space.
- Ensure warehouse products are efficiently stored across yard and interior warehouse space; group common products in designated racks or warehouse locations.
- Responsible for forklift maintenance, propane filing
- Debris removal, blackberry / plant trimming, watering.
- Oversee waste and recycling fulfillment for entire office/warehouse.
- Communicate with IT re: with warehouse gate / bay door system status
- Assist with general office administrative tasks
- Assigned member to JOSH Committee / H&S representative
- Courier arrangements / label printing / pickup scheduling
- Mail routing
- Cardboard collection / breakdown
- General office cleanup after functions
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KEY COMPETENCIES
- Grade 12 is an asset.
- Direct field experience with Remediation, Abatement, Emergency Response or Demolition is an asset.
- Forklift License required
- Asbestos Handling
- Level 1 First Aid
- Familiar with driving 2Ton Truck
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to learn and develop an understanding of equipment / tools functionality.
- Ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English; Spanish will be considered an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Outlook is an asset.
- Knowledge of Hilti On-Track programs (for inventory management) is an asset.
- Must be able to work independently or within a team setting.
- Positive attitude, punctual
Physical Abilities:
Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy material (up to 50 lbs.). Must be able to climb stairs and stand for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Type of Employment: Fulltime, 3month contract with a possibility of conversion into a permanent role, 5days a week, Monday to Friday 7AM4PM.
- Work is primarily in a warehouse environment

$15.65-$24.08 per hour
