Job Description:


SCOPE:
This position is responsible for the maintenance of material control, inventory levels, production requirements and supplier release planning

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ongoing interaction with production supervisors, suppliers and customers for production requirements and plan weekly and longterm production requirements for all products through the daily analysis of inventory levels and production plans
  • Coordination and release of vendor materials to meet daily/periodic production schedules
  • Inventory management through maintaining target levels, cyclecounting and physical inventory verification
  • Responsible for managing the month end physical inventory count including investigating significant count variances compared to perpetual inventory balances including performing cycle counts throughout the month
  • Assist in the reconciliation of inventory & COGS on a monthly basis
  • Keep the purchased inventory and supplies to an optimized level without adversely affecting production
  • Monitor supplier/ shipping compliance performance as to specification
  • Expediting of all customer and vendor requirements when required
  • Coordination of transportation and vendor releases to ensure the timely delivery materials and minimize freight
  • Monitor raw material, workinprocess and finished goods inventory target levels
  • Monitor and report on weekly production efficiencies and scrap rates by resource/part
  • Maintain customer and supplier contact lists
  • Monitor and manage EDI/ASN releases to ensure uploading
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and control the inventory levels at in house and supplier locations
  • Perform planning analysis as required on daily inventory balances
  • Maintain part routing and Bill of Material for all product lines
  • Responsible for daily input and review of production data into ERP system
  • Maintain system data accuracy by periodic review and update
  • Liaise with functional teams to ensure an efficient & successful system to maximize inventory to meet company performance targets.
  • Liaise with Quality for quality issues and to maintain hold area for quality and production
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions
  • Liaise with customs brokers (backup)
  • Liaise with carriers for inbound/outbound shipments
  • Work in compliance with Stackpole EP Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems
  • Perform other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Postsecondary education in Materials Management or related experience
  • MRP and Webbased Customer Systems (DDL, GM SupplyPower, CMS/AS400, SAP) experience is an asset
  • Proficient knowledge of computers Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Must be able to cooperate and work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Open to work overtime if required
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain inventory levels;
  • Excellent communication skills required along with good interpersonal and proven organizational abilities;
  • ERP or MRP and inventory management essential
  • Previous experience managing a perpetual inventory system
  • Previous inventory experience in a manufacturing environment.
