The Information Technology Services (ITServices) department requires a Junior Network Analyst to assist in the ongoing transformation of the Queen's network environment.

The Analyst will work closely with Network Architects, Network Administrators, and business stakeholders to develop new network capabilities and enhance existing ones.

This position works with internal teams and departments to understand business needs. This position applies technical knowledge to support the establishment and implementation of infrastructure requirements.

This position makes recommendations for the ongoing development of tools, integrations, automation platforms, pipelines and scripts to support the university's network platforms.

This position generates test plans (automated and manual), executes tests, and troubleshoots issues. This position also contributes to project planning.


Job Description:


What you will do

  • Works with internal teams and departments to understand business needs.
  • Applies technical knowledge to support the establishment of infrastructure requirements.
  • Provides technical knowledge and makes recommendations for the ongoing development of tools, integrations, automation platforms, pipelines and scripts to support the university's network platforms.
  • Maintains tools, integrations, automation platforms, pipelines, and scripts to support the university's network platforms.
  • Supports the integration of new network technologies by generating test plans (automated and manual), executing tests, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Contributes to project planning.
  • Performs daily system checks, testing, and reviews reports to ensure continued compliance and health of network platforms.
  • Analyzes data to ensure network platforms meet current and future capacity requirements.
  • Creates and maintains documentation to support the university's network platforms.

Required Education

  • Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or ongoing learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.

Required Experience

  • More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Draw logical conclusions and provides opinions and recommendations.
