JOB SUMMARY:


The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supporting and directing the maintenance staff, the production equipment and building structure with a focus on accountability, reliability, efficiency and waste reduction through Best Maintenance Practices.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide supervisory support for the maintenance of overall plant and support equipment including the offsite piling ground equipment;
  • Provide support for ongoing implementation and optimization of maintenance best practices, inventory parts, standard inspection programs and predictive maintenance programs;
  • Provide support in the development of annual maintenance budget and support in meeting specific equipment reliability targets while operating within budget;
  • Work with the supervisory team to improve plant operations including safety, quality, cost, efficiency and waste management;
  • Provide support for continuous reduction of overall plant downtime using available resources;
  • Ensure Health & Safety and proper environmental practices are followed within the department;
  • Responsible for ensuring the scheduling and supervision of major equipment repairs, overhauls and rebuilding to ensure that it is fully operational and safe to operate and within scheduled requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • Red Seal Millwright/Mechanical trade certification is required;
  • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years maintenance management or supervisory experience in a production facility, preferably food production;
  • May consider a combination of relevant trade certification and experience;
  • Experience with a structured CMMS system is preferred;
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programs (an asset);
  • Decisionmaking skills;
  • Leadership, interpersonal, organizational, motivational, and communication skills;
  • Good knowledge of Maximo, Navision, SharePoint and MS Office;
  • Demonstrates leadership in living and promoting Lantic's Mission and Values;
  • Strong sense of accountability;
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information;
  • Ability to act as a coach and mentor, and to lead and motivate a team;
  • Adaptable, autonomous, and rigorous;
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity;
  • Good stress management;
  • Ability to manage several tasks and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
