is looking for a dependable individual to join our team.
The part-time
Operator will be responsible to provide a clean, safe, respectful environment for all its users and general public while delivering superior service at
hockey for all centre.**
What to be excited for in this role:
  • Carry out daily operation of facility as required check/carry out maintenance in the arenas to ensure cleanliness and safety of benches, floor matting, gates and handles throughout operator's shift.
  • Inspect all complex/carry out maintenance of dressing rooms, stands, walkways, washrooms and showers in between user groups during shift.
  • Ensure cleanliness and refill supplies as needed (paper, soap, bags).
  • Document/log and report any damage in the facility to the Operations Supervisor or Building Engineer.
  • General maintenance of the interior of the building as well as the facility grounds.
  • Maintain and prepare the facility's rinks, including ice resurfacing and maintenance.
  • Ensuring Iceplex is in compliance with all necessary Safety and Health Regulations.
  • Perform maintenance to defined and proper building standards and best practices.

What we need from you:


  • Minimum two years' experience in ice maintenance, including resurfacing, maintenance, installation, and removal.
  • Class "W" Refrigeration Operator Certificate considered an asset.
  • Experience working in an arena will be considered an asset.
  • Handyperson skills in carpentry, plumbing and electrical are considered an asset.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills, with a personal handson approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in handling the public, athletes, hockey associations, sponsors, staff and patrons.
  • Able to work various shifts/flexible hours; including ability to work day, evenings, overnight and weekends as required.
  • Able to work in an environment with multiple and competing demands, while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • A team player, working with colleagues sharing a common goal of providing a Superior Patron Experience.
- hockey for all centre is not on a Winnipeg Transit bus route, must have a means of transportation.
