Summary
A Host or Hostess makes sure that their customers feel welcomed, cared for, and valued. They create a warm and welcoming environment for customers from the moment they enter the establishment.

Job Duties

Seat customers at designated tables and take drink orders, if necessary
Provide menu and announce server name to the customer.
Maintain a clean, tidy, welcoming, and frontofhouse experience.
Answer questions about the food and beverage menu, as needed.
Understand the needs of servers to ensure sections are not overcrowded.
Providing accurate wait times and monitoring waiting lists.
Manage reservations.
Retrieve customer coats as required.
Greet customers upon their departure.
Cater to customers who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly).
Answer incoming calls and address customers' queries.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.
Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess.
Strong customer service experience.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Able to work well under pressure.
Strong attention to detail.
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
Professional appearance and manners.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
