Description

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all monthly financial and management reporting for project partners/coowners related to certain properties
  • Accurately record all daytoday financial transactions
  • Verify transactions are recorded in the correct accounts as per corporate accounting policies
  • Process accounts payable and prepare invoices for payment approval
  • Process accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts
  • Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliation
  • Reconcile and balance intercompany accounts
  • Perform monthend closing
  • Prepare the trial balance
  • Complete and file HST returns and other government remittances
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual schedules and reports on a timely basis
  • Assist with auditor requirements, including the company's audit firm and all partner/coowner audit firms and government audits when required
  • Prepare, review and post monthly rent roll
  • Maintain and clear tenant query log while ensuring uptodate tenant files
  • Ensure all adjustment billings are delivered to tenants within 90 days of yearend
  • Assist in the accounting of property acquisitions and dispositions
  • Prepare real estate tax, operating expenses, and other CAM for tenants
  • Knowledge of Quick Books Online, commercial property accounting software such as Yardi or similar programs
  • Other responsibilities and duties as required

Position Requirements:


  • Proven bookkeeping experience working with multiple companies simultaneously
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Strong cash management skills including electronic banking deposits and disbursements
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail while working under predetermined deadlines
  • Working knowledge of mainstream accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks Online, Simply Accounting, ACCPAC)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Strong knowledge/experience with commercial leases
  • Independent, assertive and comfortable communicating with various types of individuals
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects

Qualifications:


  • 3+ years experience in a multiple corporate environment
  • Holds a postsecondary degree or diploma in accounting

Salary:
$25.00-$35.00 per hour
