OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Payroll Clerk will work with the finance team, management, and employees to ensure all payroll and processing is completed with high degrees of accuracy, issues are resolved quickly within the guidelines of the policy and legislation requirements.

The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for supporting the finance team with all day-to-day tasks related to the payroll functions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Complete all aspects of the payroll function including data entry.
  • Assist in distribution of pay slips.
  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department and division transfers.
  • Maintain and file pertinent employment documentation in employee files.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll.
  • Assist team members by performing other duties within the finance department.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner Designation.
  • Previous work experience and strong knowledge of payroll is required.
  • Experience using SAGE accounting software would be considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel is considered a strong asset.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting practices is a requirement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fastpaced environment with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Must provide a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector), Child Abuse Registry and Prior Contact Checks as a condition of employment.
  • Successful applicant(s) will also be required to provide proof of COVID19 vaccination prior to start date.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
