The Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is responsible for regulating the alcohol, gaming, horse racing and private cannabis retail sectors in Ontario, in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.


Position Summary

The Information and Information Technology Division of the AGCO has an exciting opportunity within the Enterprise Data and Analytics team for an Information Management Lead.

Reporting to the Manager, Data Governance & Information Management, you will develop and implement the Recordkeeping and Information Management program for the AGCO, and will lead projects and deliver guidance, services and expertise at a senior level.

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and collaborating and communicating extensively across the enterprise.


  • Lead the development and delivery of Recordkeeping and Information Management services to ensure AGCO records and information are managed in compliance with applicable legislation and policy, and to increase the value and optimized use of data and information assets.
  • Provide expertise in the development of services and implementation of technology to support Recordkeeping and Information Management, including updates to the Electronic Document and Records Management System and introducing effective and innovative approaches to managing the retention of data and digital record.
  • Establish and communicate Recordkeeping and Information Management policy and standards and providing guidance and oversight for their implementation.
  • Provide senior level advice, guidance, oversight and support for practice areas under the data governance framework, including data retention, data discovery and quality assessment.
  • Collaborate with leads from I&IT and across the AGCO to incorporate Recordkeeping and Information Management requirements on a wide range of program and system development initiatives, advancing a scalable, riskbased "by design" approach.
  • Contribute to the development of performance measures for the Recordkeeping and Information Management program to demonstrate its value, and to support enhancements in its practice areas.

How do I qualify?:


  • University degree in a relevant field (Information Studies, Public Administration) and six (6) plus years of practical and related experience.
  • Professional certification in relevant areas (Recordkeeping, Privacy, Data / Information Management).
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated ability to interpret applicable legislation, regulation and directives and experience in developing and implementing related policy and standards.
  • Good understanding of related disciplines such as security, IT system design, policy development, business and data/information architecture, legal processes, risk management, project management.
  • Experience in developing and delivering services and procedures to effectively govern and manage information and data.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).
