About the Opportunity


Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Clinical Supervisor provides clinical oversite and guidance to the Youth Crisis Stabilization System (YCSS) team ensuring alignment with organizational core values and the strategic drivers of becoming youth centric, a centre of excellence and building culturally safe services and programs.

In partnership with the Evening Supervisor, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the Mobile Crisis Team to ensure the mandate of the program is being implemented.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide clinical direction and input to the YCSS team on all aspects of case management, which involves therapeutic issues such as intake, treatment plans, discharge planning, support requests and contact with collaterals. Completes clinical consultation for YCSS team members weekly.
  • Provide supervision, leadership, oversight and support to the Clinicians and Clinical Follow Up Facilitators, students and casual employees. Evaluate and direct their work; develop their skill set; participate in selection of the Clinicians and Clinical Follow Up Facilitators. Monitor staff adherence to legal, ethical and organizational standards of practice; ensuring quality of work; plan specific strategies and steps to address problems or deficits being exhibited in the work; recommend disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • In consultation and collaboration with the Chief Operational Officer and Leadership Team, the Clinical Supervisor coordinates, maintains and implements strategies, plans, programs, projects, tools, data and reports for the YCSS program that achieve organizational goals.
  • May be required to go out into the community on visits when required or for training and support needs.
  • Promotes and liaises with community partners and families to determine the future needs and direction for the program; represents The Link externally and internally; provides consultation to collateral agencies such as Children's Mental Health, Child and Family Services, schools, and probation as needed.
  • Provide On Call Support on a rotational basis to YCSS and other Link program areas.
  • Facilitate trainings and workshops for collaterals upon request and with consultation from Chief Operational Officer.


Other duties as related to the position and as reasonably assigned by the supervisor, or as circumstances dictate, all within the context of The Link's Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles as well as a strong and progressive customer service and community service orientation.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working within complex systems
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience supervising and evaluating the work of others; providing leadership to subordinate staff is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working within a child welfare setting
  • Preparation of reports and analysis required.
  • This position supports 24/7 operations and, as such, is required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
  • Satisfactory Child Abuse and Adult Abuse Registry Check, Prior Contact Check and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Valid Manitoba Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for work related purposes
  • Ability to drive in the community on visits.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification
  • Deescalation training
  • ASIST training
