Active in the commercial, industrial, and institutional fields of construction, MJ Dixon Construction Ltd. Provides a complete General Contracting and Construction Worker Service.We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Estimator to grow with us.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing and maintaining bid packages and tender documents both electronically and in hard copy format
- Contacting subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adequate coverage and interest
- Reviewing and gaining thorough knowledge of project scope and specifications
- Performing takeoffs and assisting in cost estimation
- Attending sitevisits
- Assisting with bid closings
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
Appropriate post-secondary education in construction estimation, engineering or other relevant field
- 2+ years' of estimating experience with a track record of success highly desirable
- Excellent communication in English
- Thorough attention to detail; able to perform in a high pressure environment with high accuracy
- Proven negotiation skillset with capability to envision winwin strategies
- Good team work and people skills; an ability to make a great impression
- Highly organized selfstarter, able to handle and be accountable to multiple priorities
- Webdesign and content administration would be desirable
- Aspiration for constant improvement and problem solving
