Nootka Marine Adventures is a leading resort operator dedicated to sustainable adventure tourism on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

We host guests from around the world and love to share our passion for saltwater sportfishing and other outdoor adventures.

Our focus is to grow a new generation of passionate anglers by teaching families and youth to fish.

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing supply chain operations (supplies, orders, inventory, shipping, receiving) for our locations. In addition, they will offer accounting and administrative support. The Logistics Coordinator will work primarily in our head office in Courtenay, BC, and will report to the Controller.

  • Class 5 driver's license
  • Driver's abstract
  • At least 2 years' experience in a logistics support role
  • Outstanding organization and coordination abilities
  • Strong understanding of supply management principles and practices
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • A strong command of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks Online and basic accounting principles (preferred)
  • Familiarity with west coast saltwater fishing (preferred)
  • Familiarity with the tourism and hospitality industry (preferred)

What you'll be doing:


  • Oversee, coordinate, and monitor supply chain operations for all Nootka Marine Adventures locations
  • Develop and maintain a logistics system to optimize shipping and transport procedures
  • Plan and track the shipment of supplies
  • Analyze and optimize internal procurement processes
  • Place orders and arrange stocking of materials and equipment according to needs
  • Oversee inventory system
  • Keep logs and records of orders
  • Travel between locations to assess and streamline operations
  • Assist with recruiting and coordination of logistics staff (e.g., truck drivers) as needed
  • Promptly resolve shipment and inventory issues as they arise
  • Oversee licensing, insurance, and regulatory compliance for transport vehicles
  • Track and document supply chain mileage and fuel consumption (land, sea, and air)
  • Regularly communicate with company leaders to understand their supply needs
  • Train company leaders on purchasing and transport processes
  • Communicate with suppliers to achieve profitable deals and mutual satisfaction
  • Prepare reports for management
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with supply vendors
  • Assist the accounting department with accounts payable including processing and coding invoices, posting entries to QBO, and entering payments into banking platforms
  • Assist with accounting administration and other record management as needed

Compensation:

This is a year-round permanent position with an expected salary range between $50,000-$55,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Extended health and dental benefits are included after 3 months.


Schedule:


  • Fulltime, 8hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
