Description

Employment Opportunity - School Crossing Guard Part-Time Relief Position
are going to or coming from school. The position is part-time relief throughout the school year
(September to the end of June). The position is non-union and compensation is minimum
wage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Directs actions of children and traffic at street intersections to ensure safe crossing.
Records license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals and reports infractions.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

Ability to:

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public. Remain calm and use good judgment in emergency situations.
Work independently without supervision.
Stand and/or walk for up to four hours per day.
Work in adverse weather conditions.
Understand and clearly communicate in the English language.
Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town.
Should not have a red/green visual color perception deficiency.
