Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Ontario - Your Health Space** supports health care organizations across Ontario to improve mental health in their workplaces through live workshops and self-directed modules.

It embraces the holistic view that psychological health and safety in the workplace takes the collective effort of individuals across an entire organization.

The program is offered to leaders, health care workers, and support staff working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home and community care settings.

Through this program, health care workers can learn to recognize and manage symptoms of chronic workplace stress and connect with colleagues through facilitated discussions.


Job Summary


CMHA Ontario is seeking multiple, experienced
Trainers to deliver our
Your Health Space program to practitioners and leaders in Ontario.

The Trainer position is currently available as a full-time or part-time contract, starting immediately and ending on March 31, 2024.

Incumbents will report to the program's Training and Learning Development Lead and comprise a team of trainers based in communities across the province focused on delivery of the program.

Core Responsibilities

  • Delivers Your Health Space programming to healthcare organizations across Ontario
  • Assists in curriculum improvements based on feedback from client and participant evaluations
  • Develops and maintains new and existing partnerships with healthcare organizations
  • Implements and monitors quality assurance measures, including evaluation practices, with support from internal specialists
  • Responds to client and training requests
  • Keeps accessibility and inclusivity at the forefront of workshop delivery
  • Collects and shares evaluation data from training events and participants
  • Reports training activities to the Training and Learning Development Lead
  • Attends regular meetings and training opportunities for the Your Health Space and CMHA Ontario teams

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience training adult learners required
  • Work experience in the healthcare sector required. Direct patient/client care experience strongly preferred
  • Certification/designation in a relevant healthcare field (e.g., RN, RP, RPN, BSW, MSW, PSW, SSW, CYC etc.)
  • Ability to deliver training effectively in English required, and in French a strong asset
  • Experience working in multisectoral partnerships and liaising with nongovernmental organizations and government agencies required
  • Demonstrated ability to present to and/or facilitate large groups of 100+ participants, both virtually and inperson
  • Ability to deliver curricula related to mental health and addictions
  • Work experience in the community sector an asset
  • Familiarity with key concepts of mental health promotion, workplace mental health, health equity, and social determinants of health an asset
  • Working knowledge of the mental health and addictions sector, workplace mental health, and the Z1003 National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace preferred
  • Highly strategic thinker with strong leadership skills
  • Welldeveloped administrative, organizational, and problemsolving skills; Effectively prioritizes and manages workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including strong writing, editing, and presentation skills with a high attention to detail
  • G Class license required

Salary
This position pays $68,000 per annum, based on a 35-hour work week (prorated for part-time hours). Vacation and Group Benefit Eligibility


Working Conditions


This position is also a desk job with extended periods of sitting, reading, telephone interaction, and working at the computer.

This position involves some moderate lifting, shipping, and handling.

Attendance at various meetings throughout the workday/workweek will be required; meetings may occur on short notice, depending on the circumstances.

This position is within the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.
