Central Office Clinical Coordinator to join our team


Position Overview:


Reporting to the Central Office Primary Care Manager (PCM), the Central Office Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of clinical care at the ESPCN central office.

This will include coordinating clinician schedules, promoting efficient and effective use of and maintenance of the EMR, acting as the Privacy Officer, and offering proactive administrative support to the Central Office PCM.


The Central Office Clinical Coordinator will work collaboratively with the central clinical team and the central administrative team to promote strong processes, efficiency, patient access, and high-quality clinical care.

Working proactively, this is an individual who excels in organization, handling many priorities at one time, and thriving in a fast-paced work environment.

This role may require occasional evening work to provide after-hours support.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and implements clinician schedules in advance, within established timeline expectations.
  • Completes ongoing daily review and management of clinical schedules, responding to changes promptly to maintain seamless workflow and care delivery.
  • Manages schedule conflicts and makes decisions related to rescheduling or revising clinical schedules based on established priorities.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between management, clinical staff and administrative teams related to scheduling, booking, and room/space coordination.
  • Collaborates effectively with the Central Office Admin Lead, Central Office administrative team, and other team members as required.
  • Offers EMR expertise to the central clinical team and management.
  • Promotes efficient and effective use of the EMR, including proposing EMR process changes and supporting implementation to enhance efficiency, communication, and patient care.
  • Escalates concerns or situations appropriately to the Central Office Primary Care Manager
  • Provides administrative support to the Central Office Primary Care Manager.
  • Assists in coordinating meetings related to central clinic operations (huddles, 1:1s, central staff meetings).
  • Develops and implements rolerelated processes and maintains accurate, detailed records.
  • Prioritizes competing needs; handles matters expeditiously and proactively, and follows through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
  • Serves as the Privacy Officer.
  • Continually supports the vision and mission of the Edmonton Southside Primary Care Network.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education in a related field
  • 3+ years' experience coordinating or managing operations in clinical environments
  • PCN familiarity and experience is a definite asset
  • A strong understanding of privacy legislation, particularly the Health Information Act is required
  • Experience in primary care as a Clinic Manager and/or Privacy Officer role is an asset
  • Advanced EMR expertise (Healthquest, other EMRs) and experience integrating new EMRs and/or developing and implementing EMR process improvements
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft 365, Teams, and the entire Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience within a highly demanding work environment with expertise in prioritizing and managing competing priorities and deadlines
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate the highest level of service and response
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to problemsolving; a forwardlooking thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
  • Highly resourceful teamplayer; equally effective when working independently
