About Nithview Community:

Nithview Community is a seniors' community designed to provide several types of accommodation and services.

Residents are able to choose the type of accommodation that is most appropriate for their care needs and continue to live within the community of care as their needs change.

Emphasis is placed on assisting residents to live life to the fullest in this dynamic residential setting.


About the position:


As a valued member of the team, the Food Service Worker (Summer Student) will serve food, dishwash, and other related duties.

They are also responsible to aid with food preparation under the cook's direction.


Wage:


$15.00 Hourly

  • This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program_

Qualifications:


  • Must be able to relate, communicate and cooperate effectively with staff, residents, residents' families, and the public
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition and special diet needs of individual residents
  • Able to operate kitchen utensils and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Able to tolerate standing and lifting throughout the workday
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be open to new knowledge and changes in the healthcare and food service fields
  • Must be able to exhibit maturity, good judgment, and flexibility
  • Possess physical and mental capabilities to provide quality resident care
  • Must show genuine concern for the elderly
  • In order to be considered for the Canada Summer Jobs Program you must:

  • Be between 15-30 years of age:
-
Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_
for the duration of employment and:


  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations:

Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution for September 2023
