The Opportunity
Responsibilities:
- Enter invoices in accounting system for payments ensuring correct approval, coding and matching of PO's.
- Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with vendors regarding payment related matters.
- Enter receipts and reconciling credit card statements for all departments.
- Paying vendors in a timely manner through ACH and cheque payments.
- Record cash receipts and prepare weekly deposits.
- Generate and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts and take appropriate collection actions.
- Contact customers to follow up on outstanding invoices and coordinate payment arrangements or resolve billing disputes.
- Supporting summer camp, childcare and after school registration during peak periods.
- Updating monthly projection files for all departments. Complete any other workrelated tasks as required by your supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Postsecondary education in accounting, with one to two years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of excel and word
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communications skills, and previous experience working with senior management
- Be flexible and adaptable, understand the overall goals of the team and actively seek to help achieve them.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work items with minimum direction.
- Strong time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
