SUMMARY


As the Business Operations Manager - ROS, you will be responsible for the development and execution of growth strategies in support of business objectives for the Rapid Operations Shop (ROS), and provide program specific strategy, planning, direction, and coordination in partnership with the ROS Production Manager.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Excellence

  • Performs and reports metrics such as budgets, productivity, cycle time, piece count output, and setup times.
  • Develop plans for the control of output, budget spending, labor efficiency and the utilization of department personnel to provide continuous reduction in product cost and a corresponding increase in quality and ontime delivery.
  • Successfully manages budgets including developing annual budget and spending plans.
  • Develop and implement strategy for ROS
  • Development of new processes, standards and operational plans supporting the implementation of the ROS business strategy
  • Search for opportunities to increase the efficiency of business processes
  • Translating future demand and capacity data into organizational objectives and factory requirements
  • Partner with Supply Chain to actively lead strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Develop production and recovery plan using SIOP tools.

Value Stream

  • Function as the business focal point for the Rapid Operations Shop within Oakville.
  • Responsible for ensuring that executable plans are in place to meet deliverables on their specific program and that actions/milestones are occurring as planned
  • Coordinate the development of recovery/expedite plans for nonsupporting parts
  • Develop and present strategic solutions and regular progress reports to senior leadership
  • Identify, develop and lead new opportunities for business in support of the ROS cell's growth strategies.
  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors.
  • Create, analyze, and articulate innovative solutions to problems that leverage Collins technologies to obtain most efficient and effective use of company investments and align with product roadmap strategies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Leads the ROS organization by using CORE
  • Will be a handson manager who is expected to work closely with employees to identify and implement process improvements such as cycle time reduction, setup reduction, time studies, and overall efficiency.
  • Act as a facilitator in support of Continuous Improvement activities, including, standard work events, 5S, TPM, tier meetings, etc.

EHS

  • Comply with all Collins EH&S policies and procedures, including personal protective equipment use, housekeeping standards, and EH&S training requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 8 years of relevant experience (i.e., business development, program/project management, strategic planning, factory management). In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Previous experience in operations/business leadership experience in a high paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Business Development, Program Management, SIOP, Finance and/or Supply Chain Management would be an asset.
  • Highly motivated and dedicated individual capable of functioning in a very fastpaced environment and must be a champion of change, capable of leading continuous improvement in the processes and performance of their specific program
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong bias for action combined with resultsorientation and excellent communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Demonstrated "cando" and "change" attitude with handson approach
  • Ability to conduct independent data analysis, manage budgets and deal with ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadline targets and ability to work under pressure.
