Scope:


The Key Accounts Manager (KAM) will focus on elevating Cosmetica's market expansion and business development activities to support the organization's overall sales strategy and corresponding sales targets.

He or she is responsible for driving sales within a business unit consisting of a pre-existing customer base as well as developing new accounts based on a targeted potential client list.


The KAM is fully accountable for overall portfolio performance, including sales growth, strategic account business development, and ensuring client objectives and methods are communicated clearly to account management and other Cosmetica departments.

This is a hybrid role with three (3) days a week in the office. There is frequent travel throughout North America and Europe.


Key Accountabilities:


Strategic and Operational Initiatives:


  • Focus on developing new business and potential client opportunities, ensuring Cosmetica's future business and growth with both existing customers and new clients
  • Strategically focus on toptier customer opportunities that will provide the best return on investment, maximizing our efficiencies and profitability
  • Manage prospective client relationships through all phases of the sales cycle, providing consultative solutions to the sales process to prospects
  • Achieves full integration and acceptance with client, provides a positive ROI by improving effectiveness, increasing sales, and making operations more efficient
  • Regularly drives for discovery, preliminary plan/strategy, execution plan, launch, measurement of success, and billing processes with client(s)

Product Development and Marketing:


  • Partner with Product development, research, and sampling to coordinate all research efforts, product development initiatives and sampling based on each individual customer's requirements
  • Partner with marketing to develop customerspecific presentations that will focus on potential sales opportunities uncovered in the 3year account planning process. Maintain forecast and pipeline on a monthly basis

Stakeholder Engagement:


  • Communicate internally and externally regarding any changes, modifications, or additional requirements, and manage conflict through solutionoriented alternatives. Involve all parties as required and lead or coordinate all necessary meetings
  • Initiate projects within the company and ensure that the Project Manager is properly transitioned to ensure proper execution of projects once formulas are approved and price quotations submitted
  • Regularly meet with clients to present new concepts, encourage sales and provide followup and sales review
  • Responsible for all operations and Executive reviews on a regular basis as outlined in account plan; provides professional reports to clients and management on required topics, metrics, and KPIs
  • Act as an advocate for clients as the 'Voice of the Customer' ambassador within the organization to ensure all are aligned with the client's expectations
  • Partner with the costing and purchasing departments to provide clients with accurate costs, components, and timelines
  • Set up new clients and work with finance group on establishing credit, terms, setting up new account, codes, etc.
What You Bring to the Role

  • Postsecondary education with a focus on Business, Marketing or Finance and/or equivalent work experience
  • A high degree of selfmotivation and focus, combined with superior organizational, planning and time management skills
  • A professional approach to prospective clients coupled with active listening skills and an inquisitive nature
  • Valuebased sales skills: ability to deliver a strong value proposition
  • Strong negotiation and public speaking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and focus initiatives on revenue generation activities
  • Strong Clevel and Senior relationship development skills
  • Excellent negotiation and communications skills (verbal and written) with the ability to secure the deal
  • Customer serviceoriented and a team player
  • Proficient MS Office skills in (Word and Excel)
  • An understanding of the manufacturing process within the cosmetic industry
  • Product development and brand marketing experience in cosmetics are assets.
