Shelter Movers is seeking a Volunteer Services Manager to lead a team of volunteers to develop and execute the Volunteer Services Strategy.
Reporting directly to the local Chapter Director, this pivotal role involves supporting the execution of the strategic plan among volunteer functions, refining policies and procedures, and overseeing project management initiatives.

- A national charitable organization that provides nocost, traumainformed moving and storage services to individuals and families fleeing abuse. Shelter Movers is the only service of its kind in Canada.
- Volunteerpowered, Shelter Movers currently operates chapters in Greater Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Nova Scotia, Vancouver, Waterloo Region, Moncton, Calgary, and Edmonton
- Since 2016, Shelter Movers has completed over 6,000 moves, transitioning women and their children to lives free of abuse.

What you'll be responsible for:
- Supporting the Chapter Director and National Volunteer Services Director in executing Shelter Movers' strategic plan, as it relates to Volunteer Services
- Select, train and manage a large team of volunteers
- Grounding recommendations and decisions in evidence, using key performance indicators to understand volunteer behaviour
- Attending recruitment and engagement events in person
- Providing reports and analysis where necessary to demonstrate the effectiveness of current policies and procedures
- Actively contributing to national Volunteer Services team meetings and with ideas and feedback on national initiatives and procedural changes
- Managing ongoing and temporary projects (e.g., student placement programs) as needed
- Updating and refining volunteer orientation presentations and facilitating when needed
- Assisting other chapterlevel functions when necessary
- Exemplifies empathy in all interactions, fostering profound understanding and unwavering support

Role Details
- Job Type: Parttime 21 hours/week (Flexible)
- Salary: $27$30 per hour
- Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba (Work from home, but local travel necessary)
