Description

Our expanding landscape company is offering a great opportunity for a Landscape Junior Team Lead to work on our residential and commercial projects, in crews of 3 to 5 people.

We operate Monday to Friday with the option to work Saturdays as required. This position offers on-site training, benefits after 3-months and room to grow within the company.

This position requires 3 years of experience in this field of work with the opportunities for further training to expand your knowledge and upgrade your skills in this industry.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead a crew of 3-5 people, run and coordinate materials and crew for sites.

Install Allen Block retaining walls, fences, gardens, decks, fieldstone paths, ornamental ponds, irrigation, cutting, placing, and laying interlocking pavers, planting, spreading, and carting topsoil, laying sod or seed, grading soil, tree staking, operating bobcat, excavator, skid steers and other manual duties to maintain the job site.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when needed.


The general overall responsibility of a team a leader is the successful completion of a project on time and an on budget while ensuring that we meet or exceed the Suffolk standard of quality workmanship.

Some of these responsibilities include.

  • Oversee all on site aspects of our scope of work on a specific project
  • Clear communications with our clients and their representatives regarding the specific project(s) that you've been charged with.
  • Review construction issued drawings and execute our scope of work based of the drawings and other site issued construction documents.
  • Coordinate with our clients' onsite staff to ensure proper deployment of our resources in an effective and timely manner
  • Report any inconsistencies between site conditions and the contract documents
  • Report any discrepancies between the different construction issued drawings.
  • Help coordinate and execute any SIs
  • Coordinate with operations for ordering of materials
  • Coordinate the deliveries of materials to site with vendors and operations
  • Delegating tasks and overseeing the use of tools and equipment.
  • Assessing progress and setting target goals and milestones for the project
  • Ensuring all crew members always obey health and safety regulations.
  • Completing inventory checks and equipment inspections.
  • Report any maintenance concerns to operations and help coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance of company equipment and vehicles.
  • Accountable for all company issued equipment, vehicles and tools
  • Encourage and help other team members develop and improve their abilities.
  • Review and approve team members hours
  • Complete Extra Daily Work Orders to track work extra to contract
  • Write PO's for job specific items

REQUIREMENTS

  • Competent in the use of power tools
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy materials repeatedly
  • Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather and site conditions
  • Effective communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years experience in landscaping
  • Minimum 3 years experience in pavers & retaining walls
  • Paver and wall certification an asset
  • Irrigation certification an asset
  • Must have a valid class 5 drivers license
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate both skid steer and compact excavator
  • Knowledge of Procore is an asset
