This position is at the L04 level with an hourly pay range of $ $36.78
(PSAC Bargaining Unit)
Reporting to the Manager Facility and Security Services, the Facility & Residence Clerk is responsible for providing communication between clients, maintenance, and engineering staff for the purpose of resolving maintenance requests in the most expedient manner possible.
The position supports a preventative maintenance program and is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of tenants for the Yukon Hospital Corporation residences in Whitehorse, Watson Lake and Dawson City.
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all Facility and Security Services administrative activities, such as assisting with scheduling, payroll processing, parts ordering, security access program and invoice processing to ensure the department operates efficiently.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures;
- General knowledge of building systems and building maintenance requirements and practices;
- Basic knowledge of accounting procedures and practices;
- Good knowledge of scheduling, registration and payroll procedures;
- Knowledge of filing procedures and systems;
- Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc);
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Good problemsolving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written);
- Flexibility and ability to respond positively to changes in priorities;
- Ability to prioritize workload and deal with conflicting demands;
- Ability to pay attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness;
- Ability to research and compile information and data;
- Ability to develop and maintain filing systems and records;
- Crosscultural awareness and sensitivity.
The successful applicant will have successful completion of a one (1) year Administrative Assistant or Office Assistant certificate and a valid Yukon Class 5 driver's license.
