Department Overview

- The Asset Securitization Group (ASG) team is part of the Global Markets, Sales and Trading business.
- The team covers North American clients spanning government, public and private companies from TD Securities Corporate and Investment Bank, and TD Commercial and Business Bank. We have team members in Toronto and New York.
- The products structured by the team provide financing and liquidity solutions to clients. Our Origination team is a franchise business that acts as a 'trusted advisor' by educating and assisting all our clients with tailored financing solutions needs.
Job Details
- Reporting to Managing Director of ASG Canada, responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Client Management
- Manage smaller relationships for existing clients, manage this client annuity for the business including any amendments and credit approvals for the program
- Support senior deal leads on large/core relationships
- Actively pitching new clients, booking new mandates
- Actively seeking new asset or industry opportunity at the direction of the leadership team. Fully vetting opportunity internally, including any required policy amendments
Expertise and Strategy
- Has developed a strong skillset in one of ASG's core asset classes (Mortgage, auto, trade, equipment)
- Includes the quantitative work involved as well as a full understanding of the legal framework and associated documentation Is a leader in the development of new business opportunity within the area of expertise. Includes developing new revenue opportunity within the existing client book
Risk and Control - Fully understands the risk appetite of TD and is actively managing transactions within this risk framework
- Has extensive experience within the business and be proactive in identifying potential issues within the asset class or industry
- Liaise with other internal departments, Corporate and Commercial Banking, Credit, Investment Banking, Fixed Income and FX to align with our strategic objectives.
Job Requirements
- Some work experience in the financial service industry is required along with but not limited to, the following:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- University degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business or Economics
- Strong knowledge and understanding of a range of Financial Products including: FX, Fixed Income, Money Markets, or Interest Rate Derivatives
- Ability to work under tight deadlines independently or in a teambased environment
- Demonstrates analytical thinking and sound judgement when making decisions
- Good organizational skills, highly motivated and adaptable to a changing business environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheetbased analysis
- Foster and maintain effective working relationships with business partners
- Understand and comply with TD Policies, regulatory and compliance requirements
