SUMMARY


Reporting directly to the General Accounting Manager, the Treasury Assistant ensures the efficient flow or daily business affairs and financial data; correspondence, filing systems, reference documentation, customer service met in timely manner.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support the General Accounting Manager for all treasury related tasks
  • Act as the admin for banking functions
  • Prepare documentation for banking transactions or requirements
  • Maintain all documents relating to treasury (hedges, letters of credit, renewal forms, bank inquiries, etc.)
  • Prepare approved banking transactions and ensure subsequent approvals are done in a timely manner
  • Record all bank deposits in BAAN and perform required followups
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve problematic AR customer accounts
  • Prepare and circulate receivables listings to various departments as required
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations of certain accounts
  • Create approved new customer accounts in BAAN
  • Responsible for company petty cash
  • Support for time card reporting for finance team
  • Maintain documentation for archiving for the finance team
  • Collects and reviews various documents for internal and external audits
  • Act as backup for general accounting during vacations and absences
  • Performs any other related tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • University or College degree in administration or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role
  • Possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines, internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage issues in a discreet and confidential manner relating to treasury
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Team player with a dynamic personality.
  • Fluently bilingual (French and English) oral and written.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
