What can I expect to do in this role?: As a strategic human resources professional, you will:

  • Work closely with ministry executives as their key point of contact and expert resource in providing strategic guidance and advice on matters of policy interpretation, implementation and practice concerning diversity and inclusion.
  • Work on professional development, educational and mentorship initiatives in collaboration with corporate partners, including participation in various forums and working groups representing the ministry.
  • Promote and advance the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion through training, outreach and the provision of advice and information.

How do I qualify?:


Strategic Human Resources Knowledge and Skills:

  • You are solutions-focused with experience delivering successful outcomes on key organizational programs.
  • You have knowledge of diversity and inclusion, and racial equity issues and organizational strategies to address them.
  • You can provide strategic human resources advice to senior management and share best practice approaches to leveraging diversity and inclusion, and racial equity strategy to meet organizational goals.
  • You have an understanding of, and expertise in, human resources practices and trends.

Research, Analytical, and Synthesis Skills, and Political Acuity:

  • You have proven experience as a detail-oriented, conceptual thinker with strong research and analytical skills to understand and analyze complicated issues in view of applicable legislation, directives, policies, and guidelines.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to synthesize and convey complicated issues with a highlevel of accuracy and recommend courses of action to decisionmakers, including data analysis and reporting.
  • You bring a high degree of political acuity to influence decisionmaking.

Communications and Project Management Skills:


  • You have exceptional interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • You have the ability to effectively facilitate, develop, and deliver presentations and briefings to senior executives and clients.
  • You have strong project management and strategic planning skills to lead, oversee and coordinate organizational programs, and obtain approvals and meet deadlines.
  • You have knowledge and experience in strategic planning and contemporary communications principles and practices to develop effective communications strategies.

Consultation and Relationship Management Skills:


  • You have exceptional consultation and negotiation skills with a commitment to delivering quality client service.
  • You have a track record of building strong, credible relationships with diverse clients, business partners and stakeholders in order to deliver results for the ministry.
  • You have a proven ability to achieve results using a positive, collaborative and valuesbased approach with peers and clients.
  • You have demonstrated experience delivering advice and influencing senior leaders on decisions relating to key organizational programs.
