Purpose:
As an Associate in the Client Insights and Analytics team, you will contribute to the success of the Global Banking and Markets (GBM) division of Bank of Nova Scotia through the creation of insightful client-level reporting and data analytics tools.
This role directly supports our wholesale banking businesses of Global Banking and Markets and International Corporate & Commercial Banking (ICCB).
The incumbent will be heavily involved with data extraction, manipulation, mapping, and creating reports working with both Power BI and Salesforce.

- Develop Reporting
- Develop meaningful performance and financial reporting; clearly communicate findings.
- Data Flow Design and Development
- Design and create processes that enable reporting and automation.
- Monthly Reporting
- Production, testing, and validation of monthly/quarterly reporting.
- Perform Analysis
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, interpret results.
- Support projects, providing detailed business and data analysis, program specifications and business requirements for development of solutions for the sourcing, delivery, and processing of internal/external data sources within the technical architecture to support client profitability and analytics for wholesale customers.
- Collaborates with business partners and technology teams to deliver complex, creative and robust data solutions. This includes development of powerful reporting/analysis against big data required to ensure accessibility for analytics and reporting by the data teams, as well as providing oversight of reporting solutions using Power BI and Salesforce.
- Expected to function independently by combining business knowledge and technical expertise to recommend, develop and implement data, reporting and analytics solutions.
- Drives the implementation of new processes, improving existing methodologies and utilizes cuttingedge technology to expedite delivery of new/enhanced products to our customers.
- Ensure all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures, while championing a customer focused culture that deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. They understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions. They also actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational compliance of AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
What you'll bring:
- Undergraduate/ Master's degree in a data science/analytics discipline/math/finance/commerce/business
- 2+ years of progressive experience in data and analytics field, finance or technology,
- Experienced with Power BI, Excel (VBA custom functions, Pivot tables, nested formulas, charting), PowerPoint, data mining
- Experience with Salesforce
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with proven ability to interpret data, spot patterns and anomalies, and provide insight.
- Strong creativity: be able to solve difficult problems with innovative or unconventional techniques when standard approaches fail.
