What You'll Do
Gyptech is seeking a
CNC Boring Mill Operator to join our team
Your role will involve:
- Set up and operation of CNC milling machines to manufacture plates and weldments to engineering blueprints for custom industrial equipment
- Verify conformance of machined work to specifications, using measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, etc
- Study machining instructions, work orders, and drawings to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequence of operations, setups, and tooling requirements
- Select cutting tools according to machining instructions
- Observe boring operations to detect malfunctions
- Lift work pieces onto worktables either manually or with hoists/cranes (up to 50lbs)
- Installing tools and spindles
- Document work performed/completed in job sheets
- Daily housekeeping of work area and maintaining equipment
What You Offer
- Minimum 3 years' experience operating a CNC Milling machine in a machine shop setting. Post secondary education in General Machining is an asset.
- Proven knowledge and experience of CNC Machining
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective machining of plates and components
- Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic the ability to work independently
