Portail FL2* Project Research Assistant

The PortailFL2 is an online openaccess platform that will centralize teaching, research and networking resources for French as a Second Language (FSL) educators working in a university or collegelevel Canadian context.

Wage:
$16/hour + vacation/holiday pay & other obligatory deductions

Hours: 180 hours

Start/End Dates:
June 1st, August 31st, 2023 (end date could change)

Duties:

- contribute to the ongoing conceptualization and development of the online portal
- contribute and update the current bank of FSL resources, events, and research projects in Canada that will be published on the portal
- contact researchers to get accurate information on their current research projects and on how their results can be applied in FSL language teaching
- find sponsors for the project
- help to prepare grants to support the continued development of the project
- keep track of the additional steps needed to complete this project and add these to the "how to create a portal" booklet (to facilitate the transfer of this knowledge to future similar projects)
- help prepare a workshop to present the portal to the wider academic community

Required Skills:

Applicants must be bilingual (French & English), organized, able to work autonomously, detail-oriented and have good research as well as critical analysis abilities.

Experience in website creation would be an important asset.
