The Quality Specialist will work collaboratively with leadership and staff within the Transplant Program to develop and implement quality assurance standards and measures ensuring regulatory requirements are met, and to improve care and service to patients, staff and other clients.
The Quality Specialist will gather and analyze data in support of proposed projects, systems requirements, quality improvement initiatives and educational opportunities.
The role is also responsible to produce reports required by the program for performance measurement and quality improvement.Temporary Full-Time
Rate of Pay:
$40.27 per hour - $50.34 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration:
Until August 2023
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Bachelors Degree in Physical Sciences or Healthrelated discipline
- Certification in Quality Management by an accredited institution preferred
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred
- Minimum of three years recent, related experience in Quality Management; strong working knowledge of quality management system essentials
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in program development, evaluation and education
- Demonstrated advanced skills in communication (written and verbal), group facilitation, problem solving, critical thinking, problem solving, and innovation
- Demonstrated skills as an effective presenter
- Evidence of advanced proficiency in establishing effective interpersonal relationships, consensus building, conflict resolution, consultation and coaching/mentoring
- Demonstrated project management skills, quality assurance and information systems design
- Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), internet and literature searches
- Demonstrated effectiveness of strong, positive influential and leadership skills
- Experience functioning in a multidisciplinary health care environment, working with all levels of staff and leaders
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
