Reporting to the Project Manager, the OCS Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing coordination and support to various aspects of operations to ensure the efficient and profitable execution of Overhead Catenary System (OCS) projects.


What You'll Do Here:


  • Represent the Company with the owner, client and all other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that Company policies and project procedures are being adhered to.
  • Ensure that all functions and operations on the job are following local legislative requirements.
  • Monitor the overall progress of the projects and takes corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensure that the owner is being advised of all extra work and claims and that subcontractors are being advised of back charges.
  • Develop an understanding of budgets, cost reports and revenue forecasts at the project level.
  • Participate in the preparation of Purchase Orders and Subcontracts
  • Assist in bid process.
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the Company's Safety and Environment Policies and QC Plans.
  • Assist in the acquisition of required safety and experience documentation from subcontractors.
  • Ensures / tracks that quality and frequency of safety inspections and reporting is in compliance with Aecon Health & Safety and Environmental Manual.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, incident investigations, etc.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the work is completed to the level of quality identified in the specifications.
  • Monitor Quality Assurance nonconformances and ensures appropriate training and followup.
  • Ensure compliance with union agreements, if applicable.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • At least five years of OCS construction and or maintenance experience.
  • Ability to carry drawings and diaries as required.
  • Ability to use stairs, ladders and climb over rough terrain.
  • Ability to work long hours per day in sometimes rough weather conditions.
  • Technical school background.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with contract and subcontract management.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and work within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management.
  • Valid Ontario (G) driver's license.
  • Ability to travel within Ontario as required.
  • Familiarity with working on live Metrolinx tracks.
  • All required training certificates from Metrolinx, CN and CP.
  • Familiarity with OCS drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Selfmotivated with good organizational skills.
