ABOUT US:

The DDRC is a non-profit, registered, charitable organization that began in 1952.

We offer programs and resources for children and adults with developmental disabilities, their friends and family, and other members of the community.

WHAT THE ROLE PROVIDES YOU:

We offer semi-fixed schedules that may change based on clients needs, paid training, development, coaching, Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), WCB, vacation days, free parking, statutory holidays, and Agency complimentary hours off per year.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensures consistent delivery of quality training for external stakeholders
  • Delivers training as required
  • Remains current in terms of core training content and leads the research, design and delivery of new courses as indicated by changing trends and needs
  • Remains current with behavioural and emotional problems solving techniques
  • Remains current in issues related to persons with developmental disabilities
  • Leads training evaluation processes aimed at achieving DDRC's training outcome measures
  • Oversees the collection and collation of all feedback from training; leads the setting of action plans when feedback indicates the need for changes, updates and improvements
  • Responds to requests for training as directed by the Director of Organizational Effectiveness
  • Acts as a liaison with external agencies regarding current training available and planning for future needs
  • Monitors training budget and keeping within budgets as assessing the return on investment of any training or development programme is becoming increasingly important
  • Organizes scheduling of parents and family support as required to meet Triple P program requirements
  • Tracks and report all program requirements
  • Submit hours to finance on a monthly basis
  • Ensures that all Triple P training materials carry appropriate branding as defined by the Agency's communication policies
  • Researches behavioural and emotional strategies to prevent problems and use as training opportunities as they arise
  • Ensure all learning material focuses on developing positive relationships, attitudes and conduct
  • Participate in Community of Practice (peer sessions) bimonthly and/or collaborate with practitioners on a regular basis to maintain professional competency

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • An undergraduate degree in related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Triple P Standard Stepping Stones (Level 4) accreditation is considered and asset
  • Strong background in adult education; applied principles of adult education and lifelong learning
  • Background in small group facilitation an asset
  • Minimum of three years' experience working with persons with developmental disabilities, their families and natural support systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of elearning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of elearning packages
