Planning Analyst at UL Standards and Engagement.


The
Planning Analyst will investigate industry trends, analyze data, and provide insights to inform business decisions for Standards Development Planning Team, a division of UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE).

The Planning Analyst is responsible for conducting research on market trends and innovations, providing insight on market drivers to support the strategic growth and development of safety and performance standards.

The role will work closely with teams across the standards portfolio to identify, plan and execute on research needs.

What you'll learn & achieve:


As the Planning Analyst, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL Standards and Engagement as you**:
  • Conduct research on market trends and innovations that impact on ULSE standards and standard solutions.
  • Gather and analyze data from a variety of sources, including surveys, focus groups, and databases.
  • Research and review forecasts and landscape documents to identify potential gaps in standards development and engagement activities.
  • Use statistical analysis and other datadriven methodologies to interpret and draw conclusions from research findings.
  • Present findings and recommendations to various stakeholders, including senior leaders and crossfunctional teams.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify research needs and develop a plan to gather and analyze relevant data.
  • Stay uptodate on industry trends and best practices in research and data analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Solid technical knowledge and experience actively monitoring technical trends, developments, and advancements in areas of expertise to drive solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in research scanning activities.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with proven success synthesizing large data sets related to a wide variety of business areas.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g. Excel, R, Tableau)
  • Demonstrated experience in translating technical information to nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking, and problemsolving skills.
  • Solid project management capabilities with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong initiative, collaboration, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:


  • University degree in an engineering, science, technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
