Material Handler - Warehouse Assistant to join our successful Toronto team immediately.
SUMMARY:
The pay rate during the first 6 months contract is: $20.87/h. Then the pay will increase to $21.12/h when the hire joins the union and will have access to company benefits (2 weeks paid vacation, RRSP and health benefits)

ROLE:
- Safely and efficiently operate a rideon pallet jack to transport and maneuver goods within the warehouse.
- Ensure there are accurate inventory levels, and discrepancies are immediately reported to Management.
- Cycle count parts inventory as required.
- Ensure parts are in proper locations and conduct searches for misclassified inventory.
- Verify parts received are being consolidated and put away accurately.
- Maintain parts identification, location, and labels.
- Will gain knowledge of product and storage locations within the facility and outside the warehouse.
- Skilled in anticipating, identifying, and troubleshooting problems.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on the rideon pallet jack to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, adhering to weight limits and other regulations, and reporting any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Good mathematical skills
- Computer and/or data entry skills; experience with shop floor control preferred.
- Good judgement & responsible
- Manual dexterity ability to use common tools
- Good interpersonal and communicative skills
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years experience in a warehousing/manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience operating a rideon push pallet jack preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy
- Written and oral aptitude in English
- Min. grade 12 or equivalent education
- Conscientious and punctual
