You as a Health and Safety Coordinator -EllisDon Facilities Services (EDFS), will be responsible for:

  • Work with the operations and preconstruction teams on prequalification's and project agreements to provide guidance and direction on specific safety requirements.
  • Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid
  • Conduct worksite safety inspections/audits and oversee the investigation of all incidents.
  • Work with EllisDon's project and corporate teams to track all relevant KPI's to ensure that our reporting is accurate and up to date.
  • Work with General Managers and Operations teams on required quarterly reporting and other reporting as required.
  • Support, develop, and implement leading strategies and approaches that support a culture of care.
  • Monitor sites to ensure they are effectively completing and updating the documents as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and EllisDon's Safety Management System.
  • Develop and analyze safety plans for potential and current projects.
  • Lead the implementation of global HSE strategies that promote "Best In Class" safety program.
  • Develop and implement systems and standards, in environmental and safety performance by continuously increasing and level of awareness to support the goal of eliminating all incidents and injuries.
  • Along with the operations team, support and represent the organization with the client on health and safety related matters.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a minimum of 24 years of experience in managing health and safety within operations, services and construction sites
  • You are working towards, or are already a certified member under the Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations with experience working on large scale sites. A college degree or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related topic would be a benefit Experience with COR process certification would be an advantage
  • You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
  • You are Willing to travel and have a valid driver's license.
