Sourcing Specialist


Reporting to the Commodity Manager, the Sourcing Specialist will be responsible to work directly with the Commodity Managers to support their Global Sourcing Strategy.

They will assist Commodity Managers in all sourcing, RFQ, RFP, Supplier Scorecards and other functions as required by the Procurement Department.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Assist Commodity Managers to identify and develop new sources globally for quoting opportunities.
  • Prepare and send RFQ packages as required (obtain data in ERP, assemble drawings, review accuracy).
  • Prepare and send Supplier Risk Assessments and validate details.
  • Assemble and analyze RFQ responses and provide summary with recommendation to Commodity Manager.
  • Obtain and expedite samples from Suppliers as requested by R&D or Commodity Managers.
  • Effective problem solving to ensure a high sense of urgency to work with suppliers to manage risks to production; resource alternatives and mitigate any potential risk.
  • Work with Planners to resolve Supplier issues.
  • Prepare and manage monthly Supplier Performance Scorecards.
  • Prepare and manage reports as required (savings, avoidance, etc.).
  • Update cost or terms in ERP system as directed by Commodity Managers.
  • Maintain purchasing records and follow business/dept guidelines and processes.

Education and Experience

  • College or University education
  • 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Supply Chain Management or Inventory Management certificate an asset
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
