JOB SUMMARY
The Janitor works primarily alone on a single site ensuring the upkeep and cleanliness of the property. From time to time the Janitor also helps on various maintenance sites under the leadership of the site's supervisor.

This position is a part-time role that follows a workweek schedule of the following:

4 hours Monday and 2 hours Tuesday-Sunday**:

RESPONSIBILITIES

General maintenance of a commercial site
Attending garbage cans on site
General clean up/litter picking
Landscape maintenance
Backpack Blowers
Hand Tools
Complete all required site reports
Complete required training on all equipment and Company policies and procedures
Act as a Company ambassador whenever in uniform
Polite, professional attitude

JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION

Completion of Secondary School an asset
Postsecondary education in the field of horticulture an asset
Industry certifications an asset (i

e:
Red Seal, Certified Landscape Technician, Pesticide Applicator License)

EXPERIENCE

No previous experience is required, although preference will be given to those who possess:
Experience working in an outdoor, laborious position
2+ years industry experience or education equivalent
Experience with local plant life

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Comfortable working in a team environment
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Previous experience with landscape machinery (mowers, line trimmers, blowers)
Strong problemsolving skills
Mechanical aptitude (troubleshooting)
Knowledge of local plant life

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is 100% labour and as such, individuals must be in good physical condition and be able to lift weight more than 50 lbs, bending, crouching, twisting, and standing/walking for long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Starting base wage of $24-27 based on previous experience

Vacation pay and stat holiday pay paid out on each cheque
