The
Fleet Manager reports directly to the Vice-President, Utilities, Fleet & IT, and is responsible for the overall management and administration of Clearway's fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles, as well as rentals.

Responsibilities include charge-out costing, performance analytics, leasing and procurement.

The incumbent will also manage the Fleet Administration team and work closely with the Fleet Operations Manager with respect to preventive maintenance and repairs.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


Budget Development and Reporting

  • Work in partnership with the VP of Utilities, Fleet and IT, develop and create annual budgets and monthly reporting packages on variances against budget targets and parameters.
  • Provide regular and timely data analysis for cost control and cost recovery for Clearway's owned and rental fleet.
  • Manage the process for managing monthly billings, allowing the department to control external costs in relation to rental equipment.
  • Review and manage internal equipment rental rates of operating company, including ongoing analysis of actual operating costs and annual price increases such as fuel, maintenance costs and other cost factors.
  • Review fuel usage and 407 to ensure efficiencies and audit drivers for proper and effective usage.
  • Utilize GPS reports for full fleet analytics, including light vehicle, and heavy equipment performance.
  • Manage Equipment procurement including light vehicles, heavy equipment and support equipment as required by operations groups.
  • Manage the payables and cost recoveries for fleet equipment, including monthly reviews of all open purchase orders and outstanding receivables.
  • Provide other budget and financial reportingrelated support as required including, but not limited to reviewing and resolving questions and inquiries about accruals and budgetary items.

Fleet Administration

  • Coordinate the purchase order process for Fleetrelated items, ensuring that proper signoffs and approvals are obtained.
  • Manage and oversee the registrations and required permits for the light vehicle fleet, direct Fleet Administrator on scheduling and updating of expiring permits and other renewals.
  • Maintain the manufacturer access licensing for servicing and maintaining our light vehicle fleet
  • Ensure all Company vehicles are properly equipped with required documentation including registration, insurance, permits, applicable certifications and that all fleet vehicles were branded correctly as per Company Fleet Branding Standards.
  • Ensure all registrations, certifications, insurance documents etc. were uploaded onto the department SharePoint site. Keeping this database current as vehicles are added and removed from the fleet.
  • Actively monitor and manage vehicle and equipmentrelated recalls from manufacturers and suppliers to ensure that necessary repair work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Field requests from vendors and sites regarding equipment requests, contract inquiries, purchase order inquiries, certifications, insurance etc.

Team Leadership

  • As the manager for a lean team of fleet professionals in Toronto and Vancouver, provide daily guidance and oversight to staff on processes and issues. Play an active role in creating an engaging working environment through regular discussions and ongoing feedback centere around employee development, recognition, etc.
  • Develop and encourage identification of ongoing process improvement opportunities to simplify and streamline existing processes to drive efficiencies, accuracy and elimination of low
- and non-value-added tasks.

  • Manage and oversee payroll for nonunion Clearway Equipment employees

Systems Management

  • Lead implementation of new ERP and other software packages for the Fleet department, including emobile.
  • Work with the Procurement/Inventory Specialist to maintain the asset transfer process in Hilti ONtrack and Texada to facilitate the timely and accurate transfer of
