$20.14 to $24.22 hourly
There is an additional 11.2% added to the hourly rate in lieu paid holidays and vacation.
- 5.2% of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
- 6% of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay

Role Responsibilities:
- Are you ready to play a vital role in maintaining Fireline equipment crucial for combating wildland fires in the province? Do you possess the physical and mental resilience required to endure long hours supporting wildland fire operations? If so, there is a seasonal opportunity waiting for you as a Maintenance Service Worker
- Fire Equipment Refurbisher at our Provincial Warehouse and Service Centre in Edmonton.
- Reporting directly to the Refurbishing Section Supervisor, the Fire Equipment Refurbisher will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities. Your primary duty will be to ensure that nonpowered firefighting equipment is meticulously maintained and repaired to established standards, ready for deployment by Wildland Fire Fighters during fire incidents.
- Additionally, you will be tasked with sorting, inspecting, testing, certifying, cleaning, repairing, and repackaging various hand tools, Fireline equipment items, materials, and supplies. Your commitment to respectful collaboration, aligned with the Government of Alberta's Respect in the Workplace Policy, is vital to meeting project timelines and production schedules.
Other Responsibilities include:
- Upholding strict adherence to safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Keeping the refurbishing section organized and tidy.
- Operating forklifts, as needed, to move equipment and supplies within a warehouse setting.
- Managing inventory through physical counts of equipment and supplies and signing out parts used in repairs.
- Potentially sewing and repairing specialty bags and packs used by firefighters.
- Branding equipment, as necessary.
- Maintaining specialized tools and equipment used in refurbishing, such as retoolers, parts washers, and sharpeners.
- Assisting in developing and constructing new equipment for use in the Wildfire Management Branch.
- Demonstrating proficiency in working both independently and as part of a team.
- Being adept at using various officebased PC computer programs, including Word, Outlook, Adobe, and Excel
