D U T I E S
The Academic Portfolio and Governance Coordinator supports the Senior Strategic Advisor in
their work with the VP, Academic and senior leaders of the organization to advance initiatives with
the potential for significant strategic impact. This position is responsible for internal research and
materials coordination from multiple stakeholders and will also be a key contributor to the
development of environmental scans, briefing notes, presentations, and government submissions.
The incumbent is responsible for analyzing research and information from various sources and
providing a recommendation based on their analysis. They will create tracking processes for their
progress for shared use by the VP, Academic team.
The incumbent will act as the coordinator for the Senior Academic Committee (SAC), providing
administrative, advisory, and logístical services to SAC to ensure academic decision-making is
timely, effective, well-informed, and in keeping with relevant RRC Polytech policy and strategic
plan as well as government regulations. The incumbent works with highly confidential information
on a regular basis including preparation of correspondence related to confidential communications
internally and with government, funders and other key partners about projects and academic
program or process changes being considered.
R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
- University degree in public administration, the humanities, communications or a related field.
Experience conducting research and analysis for policy, legislation and regulation evaluation,
development, and implementation
Strong research skills to extract large quantities of information from internal and external
resources
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent analytical, problemsolving, judgment, and decisionmaking skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively communicate formally and informally with
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Acrobat and other related software
- Advanced writing and editing skills, with experience drafting drafting strategic documents,
audiences
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of documents for use in decisionmaking
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills in order to effectively gather information and
- Ability to work effectively independently as well as within a team
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning

- Experience working in postsecondary education, public sector, or an organization of similar
- size and complexity
- Experience in working within academic governance
- Project management skills
- Working knowledge of Diligent BoardBooks
