The products that Sunsel manufactures are utilized everyday in industries such as Communications, Oceanographic Sciences, Transportation, Entertainment and Food & Hospitality.


THE ROLE


The General Manager is responsible for ensuring that all activities are consistent with and supportive of the Sunsel overall business plan.

The GM coordinates and oversees day to day operations with an emphasis on revenue management, controlling costs and business development.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with new and existing customers or suppliers to develop opportunities and strategies for growth.
  • Determines annual unit and grossprofit plans by implementing marketing strategies, analyzing trends and results.
  • Establishes sales objectives and budgets by forecasting and developing annual sales goals projecting expected sales volume.
  • Creation, implementation and development of Sunsel's KPI strategies.
  • Increasing overall sales by developing sales action plans and create strong relationships with all customers, suppliers and relevant business professionals.
  • Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Establishes and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand.
  • Completes sales operational requirements by working with other Operations team Managers in scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to a team effort by coaching and accomplishing results, while leading and supporting the team.
  • Coordinate sales and process improvement.
  • Managing all incoming purchase orders from order implementation to shipping.
  • Working closely with Human Resources to build compliant, inclusive policies and procedures.
  • Act as main liaison for Public Relations and/or Crisis Management for Sunsel.
  • Function as Crisis Management and/or Negotiator for Sunsel with customers and suppliers, when needed.
  • Supervision of all departments generally to maintain contact with all departments and periodically hold meetings to discuss progress and operations.
  • Helping to implement procedures and conduct reviews that help production, sales and work flows that improve overall company productivity.
  • Understanding, promoting and implementation of all Sunsel Health and Safety Procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The General Manager must have a Marketing or Commerce related degree with years of experience or equivalent. The GM must have previous experience working with Entrepreneurs or Entrepreneur-owned businesses.

The General Manager must also have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
