    About the Opportunity

    Under the direction of the Manager, policy and planning for Clinical Excellence and the Diabetes Care Program of Nova Scotia (DCPNS), the incumbent works with Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease Management Network/Zone leadership, to ensure effective and efficient coordination of Practice Support Programs and virtual wellness and chronic disease management program delivery across the province. This position provides additional support to individuals, committees, and working groups, as assigned.

    This position provides comprehensive coordination, operational, and practice support for the network and zone programming through collaboratively working with, and effectively communicating with, a range of partners (e.g., Program Manager, Medical Advisors, Program staff, clinical staff, PHC Primary Health Care and system leadership, system partners, etc.). Maintains good working knowledge of NSH policies and procedures and ensures the efficient and effective daily operation and planning of Chronic Disease Management and Wellness programming. Performs administrative functions for practice supports and virtual programming including, but not limited to, scheduling, registration, recording, storage and dissemination of recording, maintaining website resources, and provides support and design expertise in the production of program resource materials including guideline/process documents, website submissions, forms/bulletins, etc. through a variety of modalities. Manages document control on program projects, organizing each project in clear concise formats from project initiation to end so that information is readily available for reference/review.

    With an exceptional understanding of the DCPNS Diabetes Clinical Information System (Registry), Supports participation, learning (e.g., through consistent, self-directed training, education materials, needs-based curriculum development, etc), application (e.g., enabling participation in quality activities, practice facilitation, etc.) and evaluation of activities related to professional development events and resources. Contributes to Registry enhancements through all phases of development from concept to design, implementation, and testing; and acts as a liaison with the various user groups.

    About You

    We would love to hear from you if you have the following:


    • Undergraduate degree in Office/Business Administration, or related field, is required

    • Minimum of 3 years' of progressively responsible experience in coordination or planning position, providing project administrative support and office coordination, preferably within healthcare

    • A recognized training certificate in project management would be considered an asset

    • Medical/health services expertise, with demonstrated understanding/appreciation of diabetes and related comorbidities

    • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills

    • Proficiency in drafting correspondence and report preparation with high attention to detail and thorough editing skills

    • Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking skills

    • Demonstrated competencies requiring highly advanced skills and abilities in all facets of modern office practices and technology and with information and meeting technologies, including advanced computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, Sharepoint, Smartsheet, MS Teams, Zoom, WebEX, Eventbrite, website development/maintenance, social media, etc.

    • Experience utilizing technology in meeting planning to create efficiencies and streamline tracking and retrieval of information

    • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

    • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain excellent customer relationships

    • Strong analytical skills and strong conflict resolution skills

    • Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License

    • Experience in primary health care/community-based health care considered an asset

    • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

    Compensation and Incentives
