Shop Operations Manager - Edmonton, Canada - Applied Industrial Technologies
Description
The Shop Manager is responsible for providing leadership in the development and execution of the shop process and operations strategy in support of the overall business plan and the strategic direction of the company, specifically in the areas of operations management shop and field services sales, safety and quality.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure day-to-day shop operations are effective and efficient, following the vision set by Applied Canada management team
- Promote and lead safety initiatives to ensure compliance with regulations
- Monitor and improve the shop Quality System to uphold corporate and customer quality standards
- Conduct production and safety meetings, supervise office activities, and engage with sales management stakeholders
- Review and approve repair proposals, identify shop efficiencies, and provide clear communication to the team
- Lead the hiring process, act as the primary technical contact for customers
Work Experience:
The selected individual must bring immediate credibility to the shop function through performance, professional qualifications, and leadership skills, demonstrating core values. Interpersonal communication, presentation, and organizational skills are required.
Qualifications:
- 35 years experience in a shop setting, preferably in shop management
- Computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office and work order management systems. SAP Production knowledge is an asset
- Deep understanding of products and services offered by Applied Industrial Technologies and the industrial marketplace
- Ability to comprehend customer service needs, work independently, and lead a team
- Organized with attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
