At Cinesite, we are excited to be looking for an FX Supervisor to join our incredible team to be able to create world class effects.

Our FX Team
At Cinesite, the FX department is responsible for the simulation and animation of all types of effects.

Our team is made up of junior, intermediate, senior artists, leads and supervisors, all of whom play an integral part in production.

In FX we look for a balance of technical and artistic skills. As well as working collaboratively as a team, we work closely with the lighting department.

What you will be doing

Hire, train and support artists to be able to create their best work possible
Provide the creative vision to the artists and ensure expectations are understood
Provide feedback to artists to ensure their continuous career development and improvement. This included performance management and working with HR
Troubleshoot technical issues and create workflow inefficiencies
Identify blockers and improvements, and provide resolutions
Create documentation to ensure workflows are clear and tools are used efficiently
Work collaboratively with other departments for optimization, solving issues and ensuring continuity
Work with senior members of the team in order to produce the best possible work
Communicate to all in a respectful manner regardless of level

What you bring to the team

Extremely proficient in Houdini
Efficient time management and strong understanding of resource management
Fantastic problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Great eye for detail, continuity, physics and timing
Excellent at creating high quality digital elements and simulations (fire, smoke, water, bubbles, dust, particles etc.)
Excellent at creating setups, rigs and assets to be used by others: HDA's, shading, render and lighting setups,
Good understanding of Lighting as it pertains to the FX department
Knowledge of Nuke and Arnold
