Magellan Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent Electrical Technician at our manufacturing hub in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The Electrical Technician will support manufacture of prototype and/or one-off Rocket or Space Systems hardware.
The position will require that the individual be involved in all aspects of new product design - from initiation, planning, implementation, to closure - and participate with the design and development of various processes and hardware.
Essential ResponsibilitiesSupport the design, development, testing and implementation of new manufacturing processes and methodologies under the direction of Engineering.
Support/Generate production documentation under the direction of Engineering.
Design and fabricate electrical shop aids and assemble components into related mechanical cases.
Dismantle, repair, assemble, fabricate, bench test, function, service and troubleshoot electronics and electrical assemblies (printed circuit boards, units, electrical harnesses) used in Rocket and Space Systems hardware.
Required:
Diploma in Electronics Technology/Technician or Electrical Engineering Technology from accredited college. Equivalent training and experience may be considered.
Eligibility for ITAR/Controlled Goods registration and eligible for Security Clearance to "NATO Secret" level.
Travel will be required.
Desired/Preferred:
Knowledge and/or work experience in the following areas:
Printed Wiring Board assembly (hand and SMT soldering);
Polymerics (staking and conformal coating of circuit boards);
Cable harness manufacture.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and provide feedback on manufacturability.
Knowledge of IPC-J-STD-001 (Electronic Assemblies).
Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 Standards (Harness).

Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately is important.
Ability to deliver multiple tasks to set schedules with mínimal supervision.
