General Accountability:


  • Responsible for performing a variety of functions associated with the planning and scheduling of work activities. This involves developing and updating a list of ongoing projects as well as frequent interaction with stakeholders to efficiently coordinate resources and identify constraints impacting various phases of maintenance, repair, replacement and rehabilitation activities.

Key Job Functions:


  • Assisting with the oversight and management of information, operations and budgets for ongoing repair and rehabilitation projects
  • Considering resource constraints, revenue service operations, when planning and scheduling the Capital/Operations projects and State of Good Repair Projects
  • Recommending the relocation of resources to optimize maintenance and capital work activities
  • Managing resource interdependencies, competing stakeholder needs, and associated constraints
  • Ensuring that resources are available to meet the requirements of the production schedule at all times
  • Mitigating scheduling and resource conflicts, via the day planners
  • Working closely with the Track and Structure section and other sections and departments to optimize nonrevenue/revenue service timeframes allotted
  • Working with stakeholders to identify and analyze new maintenance initiatives and assisting frontline managers in determining service and labour requirements
  • Initiating problem reports to rectify material and equipment supply issues, and acting upon solution proposals
  • Preparing cost center, master and production schedules associated with the subway network
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure pertinent information/documentation requirements are completed on time
  • Liaising with Service Planning on planned interruptions, alternate service
  • Preparing and maintaining status reports for ongoing capital work activities
  • Developing Work Plans and updating Work Methods and SOPs
  • Overseeing annual and longterm plans, work orders, goals & objectives of the Section
  • Working closely with other departments and stakeholders in the preparation of the closure plan for weekend, sing day and/or early closures
  • Participation in the TTC's Customer Service Ambassador Program
  • Demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Education and Experience:


  • Completion of a postsecondary college diploma or university degree in a relevant experience or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent

Additional Requirements:


  • Experience in the analysis of construction schedules involving complex projects, and a good understanding of the tactical construction restraints involved with the construction projects
  • Knowledge of project management principles, preventative maintenance/construction and state of good repair projects
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management Software
  • Knowledge of all relevant legislation and policies (e.g., Occupational Health & Safety Act, environmental compliances etc.)
  • Strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal communications, and technical report writing skills
  • Sound judgement; strong analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives
