-"Skills Required:


  • System engineering and administration experience in a Netezza appliance environment with substantial knowledge of Unix/Infrastructure including Servers, Network, SAN technologies, I/O subsystems
  • 6+ years of experience in DBA role with 4+ year experience in Netezza environment
  • 3+ years of additional experience working in data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology is strongly desired
  • Must have 5+ years of SQL programming and Performance Tuning experience
  • Expert level experience in administering large databases in mission critical environment
  • Extensive experience with different backup/restore and disaster recovery solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of Netezza Architecture and system internals, including updates and features on new versions

Role:

  • Responsible for the design, development, installation and performance of Netezza appliances
  • Responsible for all Netezza appliance support, monitoring, performance, and documentation of all Netezza databases
  • Data management tasks including: User/Group/Permissions maintenance; Workload Management, Database/Schema/Table design and maintenance, monitoring and performance, installs and upgrades of all related appliance software, collaboration with IBM Netezza support
  • Will support primarily a Netezza appliance environment that will include configuration, administration and maintenance of businesscritical nonproduction and production environments
  • Perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance on Netezza systems
  • Work closely with IBM support to manage hardware/software failures, appliance upgrades and install patches
  • Review performance stats and query execution/explain plans; recommend changes for tuning
  • SSIS understanding of Data Warehousing / ETL strategy and best practices as well as the ability to develop SSIS packages
  • Create and maintain detailed, uptodate technical documentation
  • Collaborating with crossfunctional teams across hardware, platform services and operations
  • Solve live performance and stability issues and prevent recurrence

Salary:
$125,000.00-$130,000.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift

Experience:

- system administration: 8 years (preferred)
Netezza Applicance Environment: 6 years (preferred)

  • Unix/Infrastructure: 7 years (preferred)
  • Data warehouse: 5 years (preferred)
  • SQL Programming: 4 years (preferred)
Netezza Appliance: 5 years (preferred)

  • Backup/restore: 4 years (preferred)
  • SSIS: 2 years (preferred)
